I've opened a bottle of Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro Ribera Del Duero La Planta 2008. The wine is 100% tempranillo. it has nice aromas of black cherries and caramel with a subtle hint of smokiness. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with great dark fruit flavors, structure and acidity. The wine is smooth with nice complexity.

I've opened a bottle of Chateau le Thou 2001 Coteaux du Languedoc. This wine has luxurious aromas of teaberry, cherries and pomegranate. On the palate, the wine is amazingly full-bodied with delicious flavors of strawberry, teaberry and cherries. The wine is soothing and comforting to the mind. It has amazing fruit and a beautiful smooth soft finish. This is great wine making with a nice blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache. Enjoy!

I've opened a bottle of 2008 Tardieu-Laurent "Les Becs Fins" Cotes-du-Rhone Villages. The wine has aromas of fresh cherries, juicy blackberries and a bit of spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with nice fruit and a great welcoming finish. The wine has beauitful balance, it's elegant with soft tannins and nice acidity. The varietal for this wine is a blend is 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache that is aged in stainless steel tanks.

This is one big and beautiful wine. Can you say fruit bomb (twice). The wine has aromas of plums, cherries, leather and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with deep and lush flavors of ripe plums and dark cherries. The wine offers great character, balance, tannins and structure which is followed by a nice long finish. Spain should be proud how this wine represents their country and their wines.

The wine has great character, amazing fruit, balance and acidity with a nice long lasting. This Spanish Garnacha (Grenache) from Campo de Borja is a gorgeous wine and a real value.

I've just opened a bottle of La Crema Pinot Noir Monterey 2008. This wine has nice aromas of cherries, ripe strawberries, dark chocolate and light herbs. On the palate, the wine is incredibly soft, silky and medium-bodied with delicious red fruit flavors and beautiful balance. The wine has a nice earthiness with hints of passion fruit tea and spice. This La Crema Pinot Noir Monterey 2008 is a lovely wine and one that I'm happy to recommend. Salute!

Wine Review by TweSommelier - Susana Balbo "Signature" Malbec Mendoza 2008

I've opened a bottle of Susana Balbo "Signature" Malbec Mendoza 2008. The wine has a deep purple color with an elegant bouquet of plums, black cherries, oak, black pepper and allspice.

The wine is made from 100% Malbec grapes that are grown at over 3,000 feet elevation in a high desert vineyards in Mendoza. It was aged for 13 months in 80% New French oak and 20% second year French oak barrels.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with lush flavors of ripe plums, dark cherries, cinnamon and oak with nice earthiness and minerality.

The wine has beautiful soft tears that gently fall down your glass when swirled. It has a delicious long lasting finish filled with fruit and spice. This is a very nice Malbec and good value at $24.99.

Wine Review by TweSommelier - 2008 Tikal Patriota from Argentina.

I just opened a bottle a 2008 Tikal Patriota from Argentina. The wine is a blend of Bonarda 60% and Malbec 40%. It was named 'Patriota' as these two grapes have been the core of Argentine winemaking. It has a color that is a beautiful dark purplish red. The wine has deeply rich aromas of juicy plums, black cherries, star anise and spice. On the palate, the wine is a big and full-bodied with lush dark grapes, black cherries, currants and multi-colored peppercorns. This wine is very delicious with succulent dark fruit, a body that is light syrup like & a gorgeous finish that will make your heart skip a beat. It has a wonderful balance, structure, character. The tannins are soft and welcoming and you can taste nice hints of toasted oak. This is a beautiful wine that I would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful wine and one that I would highly recommend.

It has a fine ruby red color with nice clarity and long tears when the wine is swirled. The aromas of the wine fill the room with fresh red fruit, ripe cherries, cola, herbs and spice. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied. It has balance, structure and character. The fruit is big with sweet and tart red cherries galore. This wine is expressive and complex. It toys with your mind and senses. It has soft tannins, rich fruit and a delicious long lasting finish. This is a beautiful must try wine.

This wine has a beautiful purplish/red crimson color with delicate aromas of plums and freshly cut vanilla beans. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with nice ripe tart cherries, pomegranate, vanilla and herbs. The wine is balanced with nice character, soft tannins and a long lasting fruit filled finish that warms the mind. Very delicious. The wine evolves and softens as it gently decants in the glass vessel. A very nice wine indeed.

I've just opened a bottle of Robert Foley Charbono 2007. This wine has a beautiful deep rich purple colors with impressionable aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, chocolate and light spice. The Charbono grape varietal originated in the Savoie region in France but it is now grown mainly in California and Argentina. The wine is quite interesting as the Charbono grape varietal is well showcased. It is very well balanced, offering nice structure and the perfect amount of acidity. A great wine overall, delicious and enjoyable.

I am tasting a 2007 Gran Familia Rioja that I opened about an hour ago. First off, the wine has a lovely ruby red color with nice aromas of ripe red cherries and candy apple notes. On the palate, the wine is dry, light-bodied with red fruit flavors, slightly tart cherries and a long finish. The acidity and tannins soften as the wine is allowed to open up. This is a great every day value Rioja and a good choice on a hot summer day.
